What will the weather be like?

We cannot predict what weather Durham will give us! September weather is usually humid with highs in the mid-80s and lows in the mid-60s.

Where should I stay?

We recommend booking within the pre-reserved room blocks outlined on the Travel & Stay page of the website.

What should I wear?

Welcome Dinner: Dress code is cocktail attire. Men should wear a collared shirt and a lightweight sport coat (no tie). Women should wear a dress or separates with heels or sandals.

Wedding Day: Dress code is garden party black tie optional. We ask that men wear a tuxedo or dark suit and women wear a floor-length evening gown. Women should feel free to lean into color and florals!

Please note, most wedding day events will be held outdoors on grass (weather permitting). Ladies may want to opt for a block heel for comfort.

Is transportation provided?

Transportation is provided from both the Wa Duke and the JB Duke to the wedding ceremony on Saturday September 20th. Buses will pick up guests at 4pm.

Transit home from the wedding is also provided at 10pm back to both hotels. For guests who want to continue to the party, buses will also take guests to the after party at Devine’s at 10pm.

No transportation is provided to the welcome dinner on Friday September 19th. Please plan to Uber (or drive, if you’re not planning on drinking). Ubers are widely available and affordable. Vin Rouge is about a 7 minute ride from both hotels.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm. Please plan to arrive between 4-4:15 to find a seat!

Is there parking at the venue?

There is very limited parking at the wedding venue, so we ask that guests do not drive themselves. Please plan to take one of the provided shuttles or an Uber/Lyft.

Can I bring my kids?

While we adore your children, we've opted for an adults-only event to allow all guests to relax and enjoy the celebration. Details of your party size is noted on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Can I bring a plus one?

While we wish we could include everyone, our venue has strict capacity limitations so we ask that only invited guests attend the wedding festivities. You will find the details of your party size on your invitation. We appreciate you understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
